PES was engaged by NSW Lower Hunter-region based building construction company PDA Building to measure noise levels and assess the impact of noise on company employees while engaged in the company’s construction activities.
The engagement included measurement of noise emitted from items of equipment ranging from hand-held power tools to items of earthmoving plant such as excavators and positracks.
PDA maintain a third-party accredited quality system for the company’s construction industry activities. That accreditation required a regime of noise assessment for its potential impact on worker’s in order that appropriate forms of hearing protection are provided to workers commensurate with the particular equipment being operated.
