PES supervised the removal of three underground petroleum storage tanks from the site of a former service station in the NSW Lake Macquarie suburb of Caves Beach.
The site was incorporated into a medium density housing development and required validation of PAH, BTEX, TRH, Lead and Zinc contaminated areas; pollutants the result of its former commercial activity.
Bio-remediation (‘land farming’) of approximately 600 tonnes of excavated contaminated soil was conducted successfully by PES with all material being classified as able to remain on site for re-use.
